Shift.ms is a social network run by its users where young MS’ers meet, share and support each other. I am the Co-founder and Creative Director of Shift.ms, I started the Charity with my good friend and George Pepper who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when he was 22. We have been working together to build Shift.ms for the past 5 years, launching the web platform in 2009.
We are building towards a community run social network for young people with MS, a disease that is most commonly diagnosed in your 20′s and 30′s.
We received a Peoples Award grant from the Wellcome Trust in 2010 to develop Research.ms in collaboration with Professor Gavin Giovannani, and his research team at the Blizzard Institue at Barts QMUL. Reserach.ms aims to build a two way dialogue between MS’ers and MS researchers, through a web magazine and live events.
